Volunteer Engagement Workshop for Local Nonprofits: November 3rd

United Way of 1000 Lakes is excited to host a virtual workshop to help local nonprofit and community organizations effectively utilize the Itasca area’s volunteer base. On Thursday, November 3rd, Propel Nonprofits, in partnership with The Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA), will present “Cutting Edge Strategies for Engaging Volunteers to Meet Mission.” Attendees will develop strategies for managing volunteers, designing volunteer roles, and maximizing the positive impact created by volunteers.

This workshop is part of United Way’s new strategic goal to strengthen volunteerism in the Itasca area. Other ways the organization aims to support volunteer coordinators include peer networking and resource tools that help recruit, retain, and engage volunteers. These initiatives work in tandem with United Way’s online platform, known as Bonfire, which matches volunteers and organizations and provides no-cost volunteer management for area nonprofits. Volunteer Coordinators are also invited to join United Way’s Volunteer Coordinator Network (VCN), which will begin meeting quarterly to share ideas, discuss challenges, and work together to ignite volunteer action in the region.
