United Way Seeks Volunteers for June 21st

Day of Action, United Way’s largest volunteer initiative is coming on Friday, June 21st. In partnership with Itasca County Habitat for Humanity, Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA), the City of Marble, and other community partners, United Way will bring volunteers to downtown Marble to complete community revitalization projects.

The volunteer event invites residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., morning and afternoon crews will work at various sites throughout the city. Projects include installing a playground slide, painting and staining public spaces, assisting with window installations, performing trailhead and beach improvements, and landscaping. Projects will positively impact city-owned facilities, as well as home, and business owners.

Groups, including families, clubs, companies, churches, and civic organizations are encouraged to sign up. Full and half-day shifts are available, and lunch is provided to volunteers.

If weather conditions prevents projects from taking place, Day of Action will be postponed until Tuesday, June 25th. Registered volunteers will receive an email the day before or morning of the event.
