United Way Accepting Community Impact Grant Proposals

United Way of 1000 Lakes is excited to be opening its community impact grant applications to nonprofit and community programs in the Itasca area. This marks the first grant cycle of United Way’s new impact strategy, which takes a two-generation approach to building opportunity and upward mobility for the entire family unit.

United Way seeks to award up to $165,000 to nonprofit organizations whose services align with their framework strategies and metrics, divided amongst 11-15 grants between $2,500 and $15,000. Grants will provide unrestricted program-level funding intended to support general program operations in alignment and are not restricted to any specific line item or program activity.

Programs seeking funding must select one of three impact areas to apply for funding: Ready Kids, Resilient Families; Healthy Minds and Bodies; and Family Financial Stability. Under each of these impact areas, applicants will aim for specific outcomes, tracking the impact of their work on Itasca-area children and the adults in their lives. Eligibility is based on alignment with United Way’s newly updated community impact strategy, which was formulated based on the results of a Community Needs Assessment conducted in 2020 and 2021.

Programs interested in applying for funding can visit uwlakes.org/grants to learn more about eligibility criteria and submit an application. Those with questions can contact United Way at 218-999-7570 or info@uwlakes.org.
