Proud Partner Spotlight – Itasca County Family YMCA

About the Video Series
At United Way of 1000 Lakes, partnerships are at the heart of everything we do. We are thrilled to introduce our Proud Partner Spotlight Video Series, designed to highlight the incredible programs and organizations making a profound difference in the lives of individuals and families in our region. Through the end of the year, we will release a new video each week, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the programs and nonprofits supported by United Way’s Community Investment Fund. This fund, fueled by the generous contributions of our donors, supports 16 impactful programs that align with our mission to improve education, health, and financial stability for people across greater Itasca County.

Itasca County Family YMCA Spotlight
Welcome to United Way of 1000 Lakes’ Proud Partner Video Series, where we highlight the vital work of our partner organizations in supporting children and families across our communities.

In this episode, we’re excited to introduce the Itasca County Family YMCA—one of our dedicated partners under United Way’s “Ready Kids, Resilient Families” initiative.

For ALICE families, finding affordable, quality childcare can be a major barrier to economic stability and their children’s educational success. The YMCA’s scholarship program not only provides safe, nurturing care but also supports early learning and development, giving kids the strong start they need to succeed in school and beyond. When families have access to stable, quality childcare, they’re better equipped to achieve financial stability and focus on their future.

Joining us today is Joni Namyst, YMCA Executive Director, who will discuss the impactful work the organization is doing. Through programs designed to foster learning, resilience, and growth, the organization is making a lasting difference in the lives of local youth and their families. Let’s learn how it is helping build a stronger, more resilient community.
