Minnesota United Acts of Kindness Week: Nov. 13-17

Next week, November 13-17, is Minnesota Acts of Kindness Week, an opportunity to spread kindness and compassion throughout the state.

United Way of 1000 Lakes hopes that residents and businesses will spark a wave of kindness by performing at least one act of kindness each day and inspire others to do the same through social media using the hashtag #MNACTSOFKINDNESS.

JOIN the Acts of Kindness challenge, and United Way will send ideas for spreading kindness to your inbox. Here is a list of ideas:

  • For Employees: Give a note of appreciation to a co-worker; surprise someone with coffee; tape a note and coins to a vending machine; share praise to someone’s boss; give accolades on LinkedIn; take a new employee to lunch.
  • For Families and Kids: Bring extra supplies for your teacher; leave your neighbor a nice note; tell a friend how much you appreciate them; mail a family member a card; hold the door open for others; make a family member’s bed; do someone else’s chore.
  • Capture your acts of kindness via photos and videos and share them on social media using #LiveUnitedMN. Please tag us @ UWay1000Lakes on Twitter, @UnitedWayof1000Lakes on Facebook, and @uway1000lakes on Instagram.
  • Wear your Live United T-shirt, free, with a $25 donation. Money raised goes to support your local United Way and benefits more than 30 local programs.
