4 Ways to Give Back this Holiday Season (while staying safe at home!)

By guest blogger Angie Tanner

As we roll into the holiday season, it’s the spirit of giving thanks and showing appreciation and love that makes us feel all warm and touchy-feely! How can we give back during this unique holiday season while staying safe in our homes? Here are a few ideas:

  1. Make masks! A handful of local agencies are collecting masks for medical workers, essential workers, students, and members of the community.  Find more details on Bonfire, the local website that matches volunteers with opportunities!

2. Complete an at-home volunteer project or join a committee or Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization! Most meetings are held virtually due to Covid-19, so you can participate from the comfort and safety of your own home.

3. Challenge your friends to take the 2020 Challenge and donate $20.20 to the Be the Light Campaign—and help United Way raise $20,000 by the end of 2020!

4. Send a thank-you note to the nonprofit agencies in our community who are making a difference. They play a vital role in helping our community thrive and it wouldn’t be the same without them. Drop them a line and say thanks!
