United Way Seeks Day of Action Volunteers
Day of Action, United Way’s largest volunteer initiative, is coming up on Wednesday, June 21st. In partnership with Itasca County Habitat for Humanity, Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA), the City of Bovey, and other community partners, United Way will bring volunteers to downtown Bovey to complete community revitalization projects.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., volunteer crews will work at various sites throughout Bovey. Volunteers are needed to help install playground equipment, paint and stain public spaces, and work on landscaping projects. Volunteers will also help with a city-wide community cleanup, hauling debris, and helping load furniture and materials for the Itasca ReStore. Projects will positively impact Bovey residents and business owners.
Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in Bovey on June 21st. Families and companies, churches, educational, and civic groups are encouraged to sign up as volunteer teams. Full and half-day shifts are available, and lunch is provided to volunteers. The first 150 volunteers to sign up will receive a free T-shirt.
Community members looking to make a difference on Day of Action can sign up at uwlakes.org/day-of-action or on Bonfire, the Itasca area’s online volunteer portal, volunteer.uwlakes.org/events. Questions can be directed to United Way at 218-999-7570 or amanda@uwlakes.org.
