Brewing Generosity

The Klockow crew

Tasha and Andy Klockow, the founders and owners of Klockow Brewing Company, have always been dedicated to brewing excellent beers and serving the neighbors who frequent their taproom. One of the key ingredients to their success is a deep commitment to supporting their community.

The Grand Rapids-based brewery is continuing its investment in the community this summer by donating $1 from each beverage sale during the month of June. Anything purchased out of the taproom qualifies – whether you’re picking up a crowler or bottle on your way to the lake or hanging out on the patio, stopping by Klockow gives you the chance to support both a small business and a good cause. Tasha cites United Way’s commitment to pursuing long-term positive change as reason for this gift, saying,

[United Way] does so much for our community and those who need support the most – especially in tumultuous times.

Funds donated by Klockow will go towards programs that help the most vulnerable in and around Itasca County – programs that will play a significant role in helping families and individuals recover from the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

A spirit of generosity has been a part of Klockow’s culture for a while – not long after opening, they began hosting personal care kit packing parties and taking over the tap at United Way’s annual Shamrock’n Brunch. Last year, they even received an award for Best Year-Round Partnership, in honor of their dedication to supporting the causes United Way fights for.

United Way of 1000 Lakes would like to thank Klockow Brewing Co. for their generosity, as well as congratulate them on reopening their taproom after being closed for a period of time due to COVID-19.
