What inspired you to be involved with United Way?
I used to work for an amazing nonprofit in the area that utilized the grants they received from United Way to provide services that helped people in their time of need. It’s very important to me to continue making an impact in this area because I’ve seen firsthand the difference United Way makes—not only with that organization but with many others.

What is the most rewarding thing you have taken from this experience?
I enjoy using my unique ability to connect with others in the community and putting that strength to work for the greater good. It’s important for me to continue being part of the meaningful work that nonprofits do for our community.

What is one word you would use to sum up United Way’s work?
Passionate—oh wait, that’s me!

What impresses you most about the Itasca Area?
How beautiful it is and how much the community prides itself on being part of something greater. There are so many people here who are always ready to lend a hand—or a leg up—to someone else. I love walking into a small business and being warmly welcomed. I love seeing someone on the street and getting a smile. I can walk into a store or restaurant alone and walk out with a friend.

What is one thing about United Way that you think most people don’t know?
We help those who might otherwise fall through the cracks in our community. Many people don’t realize the impact United Way makes. Before I worked for a nonprofit, I didn’t understand how essential their work is—or how much those organizations rely on United Way’s support.

What advice would you give to a potential donor who is considering investing in United Way?
The important work that United Way does can only succeed with your help. We are so grateful for each and every one of you—whether you give a dollar or donate your time at an event. We need you. You make the impact.

Help spread the word about United Way. Tell others about us. Attend our events. You never know who you might inspire to give their time or resources to support this work. This is your community.
