WHAT WE DO
United Way of 1000 Lakes fights for the education, health, and financial stability of everyone in the Itasca area.
Through strategic partnerships and collaborative work, we bring the many voices of our community together to find common ground, develop a strategic vision for change and make meaningful progress, while activating individuals and organizations with the opportunity to give, advocate and volunteer to resource this work and change lives across our region.
Day of Action: June 21st
Day of Action is an annual day of service sponsored by United Way of 1000 Lakes. The largest of United Way’s volunteer initiatives, Day of Action annually draws together over 100 volunteers of various ages and skill levels to complete outreach and revitalization projects in Itasca-area communities.

Stuff the Bus School Supplies Drive: July/August 2023
Each year, hundreds of students return to school without essential school supplies to succeed in the classroom. Through United Way's Stuff the Bus initiative, you can help address educational disparities that the COVID-19 pandemic has amplified to ensure students go back to school with the essential supplies ready to learn.

For 60 years, United Way of 1000 Lakes has played a part in improving lives in the northland. Guided by research and data, United Way invests in high-quality programs to create the opportunity for individuals and families in the Greater Itasca community to thrive.
