WHAT WE DO
United Way of 1000 Lakes fights for the education, health, and financial stability of everyone in the Itasca area.
Through strategic partnerships and collaborative work, we bring the many voices of our community together to find common ground, develop a strategic vision for change and make meaningful progress, while activating individuals and organizations with the opportunity to give, advocate and volunteer to resource this work and change lives across our region.

Day of Action: June 2022
Each year, United Ways across the country participate in a national day of service called Day of Action. It’s the perfect opportunity to roll up your sleeves and let your actions speak louder than words. It’s the perfect way to show, by example, what it means to LIVE UNITED

Itascamazing Race: August 2022
The Itascamazing Race is a Grand Rapids area-wide scavenger hunt consisting of teams of 2-8. Teams will be given a series of clues and challenges to complete in a 3 hour time period. Each challenge will be worth different point values, and some will include bonus points, so teams will need to use their creativity and knowledge of the area to race your way to first!

Arising out of Minnesota United Acts of Kindness Week, United Way of 1000 Lakes’ Acts of Kindness Grants program supports small-scale projects up to $500 that aim to bring compassion, generosity, and love to the greater Itasca area.
