United Way Welcomes New Community Resource Coordinator

United Way of 1000 Lakes is pleased to announce the hiring of Lauren Larson as Community Resource Coordinator. Larson joins the organization with more than ten years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Larson will support the organization’s work by strengthening relationships, building partnerships, and developing activities and strategies to grow United Way’s resource base.

“Lauren brings a unique skill set, a passion for making a difference, and enthusiasm to United Way,” United Way executive director, Kim Brink Smith said. “I am excited to see what this year has in store for United Way and our community.”

Prior to joining the organization, Lauren worked as the Events and Catering Manager at the Timberlake Lodge Hotel.

Larson is an active member of the community. She serves on the boards of the Greenway Amateur Hockey and Greenway Parks and Recreation associations and is pursuing a business degree from the University of St. Scholastica.

“I am glad to be a part of the incredible work of United Way. I look forward to continuing to strengthen existing relationships as well as cultivating new ones,” said Larson. “It is a privilege to join this team and to be a part of this mission.”

A native of the Twin Cities, Larson moved to Coleraine with her husband, Jason, in 2007. They have two sons; Owen (12) and Ethan (10). Since joining the community, Larson and her family enjoy going to the lake, hiking, and participating in youth sports and following the Minnesota Vikings, Wild, and Washington Capitals.
